Where and when is the trip taking place, and what airport should I fly into?
The trip will take place from May 17–21, 2026 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
We recommend flying into Cancún International Airport (CUN), as it offers the most flight options and is closest to the villa. Please ensure your passport is ready and valid for international travel.
In May, Playa del Carmen experiences hot, tropical, and sunny weather, marking the end of the dry season and the start of warmer, more humid conditions. Temperatures usually range from 75°F to 90°F, with daytime highs often reaching the upper 80s to low 90s.
What are the arrival and departure details?
Arrival — May 17
Check-in begins at 5:00 PM. For a smooth arrival, book flights landing between 2:00–3:00 PM.
🚐 One complimentary group shuttle is available for arrivals during this window.
Guests arriving outside of this time will be required to either arrange airport transportation with our villa host, Tonje (pronounced Tonya), by emailing tonje@mayaluxe.com for assistance with coordinating all ground transportation ($140), or you may choose to use a taxi.
If you are planning to not use the shuttle, be sure to email community@patricewashington.com so your name can be provided to security for villa entrance upon your arrival.
Departure — May 21
Check-out is between 9:30–10:00 AM. A complimentary shuttle to the airport departs at 10:00 AM. Please book return flights for 1:00 PM or later.
How do I find the meeting point and meet my driver at the airport?
Simply follow the steps below to reach our meeting point. Your driver will be waiting.
The driver will arrive approximately 45 minutes after your flight lands.
If multiple flights are involved, the driver will first go to the terminal of the last arriving flight before proceeding to the others to pick up the rest of the group.
Please do not move between terminals, as you will not have access to the meeting point listed.
At the meeting point, your driver will be holding a sign with the booking name.

If you arrive early before check-in in Playa del Carmen, you can ease into your stay at a few beautiful nearby spots.
Mamitas Beach Club
A vibrant beachfront destination offering a seamless combination of restaurant service, beach access, and an adults-only pool area. It's an ideal setting to unwind, enjoy the ocean, and settle into the Riviera Maya atmosphere. I have already been in touch with the manager, and they would be happy to store your luggage if needed, as long as you are consuming at the establishment.
Perla Pixán
A refined yet relaxed Mexican dining experience, perfect for a leisurely brunch or early lunch. Known for its warm ambiance and elevated take on traditional cuisine, it offers a beautiful introduction to local flavors.
La Cueva del Chango
A charming garden-style restaurant, beloved for its fresh, high-quality breakfast and brunch offerings. A peaceful and authentic option surrounded by lush greenery.
Chez Céline
A well-known French bakery and café offering an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. Ideal for freshly baked pastries, quality coffee, or a light brunch — perfect if you prefer something simple yet refined upon arrival.
